Inframe News – AXEAN Festival 2026 is set to take over Jimbaran Hub in Bali on August 29 and 30, bringing together independent artists and music industry professionals from across Southeast Asia and beyond. The seventh edition features 49 artists, with Indonesia receiving a larger share of the lineup this year. The festival is also expanding its role as a meeting point for artists, labels, festival programmers and other music industry professionals.
The festival’s lineup includes artists from Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia and other markets. More than 40 artists are scheduled to perform across three stages during the public festival. The international lineup gives emerging musicians an opportunity to reach audiences outside their home countries.
Indonesia has one of the largest representations in this year’s edition. AXEAN co-founder Satria Ramadhan said around 17 to 18 Indonesian bands will perform during the festival. The increased Indonesian representation is part of the event’s effort to provide more opportunities for local artists to reach regional and international audiences.
Several well-known Indonesian acts are included in the lineup, including D’MASIV, Ndarboy Genk and Basboi. Other Indonesian performers include Aelea, Clever Moose, Drizzly, El Karmoya, Emptyyy, Feral Stripes, Gavendri, Given, Laze & Mardial and Olsam. The lineup covers a broad range of sounds, from indie and alternative music to hip-hop and electronic styles.
Artists from other parts of Asia are also bringing their own sounds to Bali. South Korea is represented by acts including Nerd Connection, MRCH and Silly Silky, while Japan contributes artists such as brkfstblend, Litty and Mayu. The Philippines lineup includes GEE EXCLSV alongside other artists participating in the regional showcase.
India will also be represented through Arivu, while Malaysia brings artists including MASDO and Pitahati. Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos are represented by additional acts in the second wave of the lineup. The international selection is designed to highlight the diversity of independent music emerging across the region.
AXEAN is not only a music festival but also operates as a music industry conference. The professional program includes speed meetings, panel discussions, pitching sessions and networking opportunities involving artists and industry representatives. The conference is designed to connect musicians with festival curators, record labels, booking agents and international media.
The 2026 edition also features an expanded songwriting camp and a Southeast Asian hawker-inspired food experience. The organizers have added cross-cultural initiatives involving international partners, including KEXP and KOREA SPOTLIGHT. These programs place the festival beyond a conventional concert format and give artists additional opportunities for collaboration.
France is also sending a delegation of artists and music professionals to this year’s event. The French delegation is being supported by several French cultural institutions and will participate in networking activities and music industry sessions. French-American artist Crystal Murray and artist Treaks are also scheduled to perform during the festival.
AXEAN Festival began in 2020 as an online gathering during the pandemic before expanding into physical events in Singapore and Bali. Across its previous editions, the platform has featured nearly 300 artists from more than 20 countries. The 2026 edition marks its third consecutive year at Jimbaran Hub in Bali.
The festival will open its public music program on Saturday, August 29, with performances continuing through Sunday, August 30. The official festival website lists Jimbaran Hub as the venue for both the music showcase and conference activities. The event is scheduled to bring artists and music professionals together in Bali throughout the weekend.
